Types of Classes

Mat Classes are group classes held in our studio that are for groups of 4 & up. Group classes are for fun, toning, postural improvement, stretching, and feeling the burn.

Equipment Classes & Individual private classes utilise the full range of Pilates equipment (Reformer, Wunda Chair, Mat work, Barrel, Trapeze Table, Stability Ball). Ideal if you are injured, pregnant or have sport-specific goals.

During these classes we aim to have you working on a custom-made program of Pilates exercises, closely supervised (max of 4 students per instructor) by a fully certified instructor.
Both Equipment & private classes are for addressing specific postural issues, balancing your body by strengthening where you're weak, stretching where you're tight, and for taking your Pilates to the next level of challenge.

Beginners: Intro to Pilates
We recommend you start by attending our Beginners: intro to Pilates workshop that is 6 intro level classes so you can move into the next level feeling confident and having built a solid foundation.

Our unique beginners course involves 1 class with a clinical pilates trained Physiotherapist to commence the introduction to pilates and perform a RTUS (real time ultrasound) to ensure that you are correctly using your core muscles. Classes 2-6 are with our Certified Pilates professionals. The cost of the entire workshop is $150.

What is Pilates?
Pilates is an exercise system, developed by Joseph Pilates specifically to improve muscle tone, flexibility, balance and posture. Different from gym workouts, Pilates workouts are designed to allow your body to express itself
freely, fluidly and naturally with full-range movements.

Types of Pilates
At Amanda Gale we have standard pilates or clinical pilates. Both types are instructured by highly qualified and experienced instructors.

Is Clinical Pilates different?

The difference lies simply with the need of the client. Clinical Pilates are classes that are written and instructed by Pilates trained Physiotherapists. Clinical Pilates is modified Pilates for rehabilitation.

At Amanda Gale we specialise in helping people reduce pain and increase your ability to function effectively and comfortably. Our clinical Pilates instructors help you get back to doing the things you want to do, whether that be sports, running, gardening, cycling or just putting on your shoes without pain!
